Brow Lift/Forehead Lift

The endoscopic forehead lift, also known as the “brow lift”, corrects expression lines and signs of aging in ways that otherwise cannot be controlled. Regardless of mood, some people have a drooping brow and furrowed forehead lines. These problems are a normal result of aging, but they can also appear in young adults. Looking at the before and after pictures on this page, one can see how a brow lift repositions sagging eyebrows and removes forehead wrinkles for a fresher, uplifted appearance.

Endoscopic Brow Lift Procedure

Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery offers an individualized brow lift procedure, taking into account your concerns and facial goals as discussed in the pre-surgery consultation. The brow lift / forehead lift can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Either way, Dr. Sinha performs the surgery in an accredited and licensed ambulatory surgery center adjacent to his Atlanta office.

All brow lifts performed by Dr. Sinha, a facial plastic surgery specialist, are endoscopic. This means they are achieved through small hidden “keyhole” incisions made behind the hairline. Dr. Sinha then inserts an endoscope (specialized surgical telescope) in order to visualize the forehead anatomy. Surgeries performed with endoscopic technology allow for uncompromised results without creating full-size incisions, this minimizes scaring and preserves the hairline. With the endoscope, Dr. Sinha will also incise small muscles that create the deep furrows in the forehead to relax the area for a more youthful look. The tissue is then re-draped to fully remove forehead wrinkles and brown drooping.

Brow Lift Recovery

Complications from an endoscopic brow lift are rare—according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, endoscopic brow lift patients report an incidence of less than one percent. However, there are some common side effects after an endoscopic forehead lift. These include forehead discomfort (treated with medication), swelling (managed with head elevation), and numbness. None of the above effects typically last for longer than one week.

About two weeks after the brow lift, Dr. Sinha will remove any holding instruments used in the surgery (stitches). Brow lift incision points usually heal extremely well. As with any surgical procedure, Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery staff members will help facilitate your post-operation recovery.

Brow Lift: Making a Decision

The decision to proceed with a brow lift / forehead lift requires planning. As with all Dr. Sinha’s cosmetic surgery procedures, a thorough consultation to those who are considering a brow lift is offered. These consultations provide patients with education, individualized procedure recommendations in line with personal medical history, computer imaging to communicate results visually, and assistance with the financial investment of the brow lift.

Consultations can determine whether a brow lift is the ideal surgery for your needs, or if you would be better served by a facelift a non-surgical facelift (accomplished with injectable fillers) or another cosmetic plastic surgery procedure.
