Rhinoplasty in Atlanta
In Atlanta, rhinoplasty is one of the specialty procedures offered at Atlanta Facial Plastic Surgery. If you’re not happy with the look of your nose, we can provide you with a customized surgical solution. Our goal is to give you a natural new look that helps you have a more positive self image.
Commonly known as a nose job, a rhinoplasty procedure can correct many aesthetic and functional abnormalities of the nose. Whether you have never liked the shape or size of your nose or it has been altered due to injury, this procedure can correct the problem. In addition to helping make your nose more aesthetically pleasing to you, it can also correct certain breathing issues. We will consult with you in-depth about your issues and determine the best way to correct them. Advances in medical technology have made this procedure safer and more effective than ever before.
You can rest assured that there will be no visible scars after you’ve recovered from your surgery. All sculpting and reshaping of bone and cartilage is done inside the nose. You’ll be under general anesthesia during the procedure, and there will be no hospital stay involved. You can go home to recover in comfort the very same day. During your recovery you’ll wear a special support splint, and you’ll be prescribed pain medication to take when you need it. All of this will be explained to you before the surgery, and we’ll schedule follow-up visits to check your progress.

Why Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, also known as Nose Reshaping or the “nose job”, is one of the most popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedures today. Rhinoplasty patients come to the Atlanta office of Dr. Pradeep K. Sinha, who has performed nearly 3000 nose jobs (and counting), for a variety of reasons. Some are not comfortable with noses they were born with, some with the way aging has changed their nose, and others with the way an injury has distorted their nose. From a functional standpoint, some may need a change of their external nasal structure to improve breathing. Having a well-shaped nose can inspire confidence, and greatly improve the overall balance and beauty of the face.
Dr. Sinha works to satisfy both functional and aesthetic nose issues. He believes in making each nose “fit” the patient’s face, so that the resultant appearance doesn’t look artificial or “done”. The goal is always a nose job that doesn’t look like a “job”. Of the nearly 3000 rhinoplasties Dr. Sinha has performed, each one was unique and tailored to the individual patient as the ideal centerpiece of her face.
About Nose Reshaping Procedure
Rhinoplasty is performed utilizing concealed incisions inside the nose. In some cases, a small “w-shaped” incision, hidden in the skin of the columella (the structure between your nostrils) is used. For other rhinoplasty patients, Dr. Sinha makes the incision at the base of the alae, the flaring part of the nostrils. In either case, the bone and cartilage that determine the shape of the nose are carefully sculpted to give the intended result—an ideally-shaped, optimally-functional nose. The nose job surgery is outpatient and can be done with either general anesthesia or with intravenous sedation (“twilight sleep”). Dr. Sinha’s patients enjoy a private, hospital-run operating room, conveniently located next door to Dr. Sinha’s office.
The nose job is more than a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. Equally important is careful reconstruction of the breathing portion of the nose; this allows for improved breathing along with that newfound pleasing appearance. As a board-certified Ear, Nose and Throat specialist (in addition to board-certification in Facial Plastic Surgery), Dr. Sinha offers unsurpassed expertise in the structure and functioning of the nose. Recovery from Rhinoplasty
The surgery is preformed in Dr. Sinha’s Atlanta surgery center. After surgery, the nose is taped with a nasal splint to hold the support structures in place. Absorbable sutures are used inside the nose. If external incisions are made, there may be sutures that need to be removed on the skin. A small sponge is placed in the nose to prevent bleeding. The sponge is removed 1-2 days after the rhinoplasty, and the tape and nasal splint are removed on day seven. Mild to moderate bruising underneath the eye for 1-2 weeks is may occur. Pain is well controlled with pain medicine, which Dr. Sinha will prescribe.
Rhinoplasty patients may return to normal physical exercise after two weeks. However, contact sports should be avoided for six weeks following surgery. An aesthetician will assist with make-up application once the dressings are removed. As with any cosmetic plastic surgery procedure, the Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery staff will assist you before and after your nose job procedure to minimize swelling and bruising postoperatively.
