Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC
What is Juvéderm?
Like Restylane® and Perlane®, Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler, but the effects of this newer, gel-based product last up to a year with a single injection. (Restylane lasts 3-6 months in lips and up to 6-10 months in other areas of the face). The human body naturally produces hyaluronic acid and uses it to sustain skin elasticity, hydration, and support. However, the body’s supply of hyaluronic acid depletes with age. Enter: Juvéderm. This dermal filler supplements the skin’s hyaluronic acid for supple and wrinkle-free skin.
Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is different in it’s material make-up as well. It’s manufactured using HYLACROSS™ technology, which creates a smooth-consistency gel, making it perhaps the most similar consistency to facial tissue yet. The gel does not clump together easily, which allows for even and natural-looking application.
This newer version of the Juvederm (Ultra Plus XC) facial injection is also infused with lidocaine, a temporary numbing agent, to improve comfort during treatment. With Juvaderm XC you get incredibly smooth, natural-looking wrinkle removal with improved comfort.

Juvederm Procedure
The Juvéderm procedure is preformed in Dr. Sinha’s Atlanta office, and only takes a few minutes. Using a sterile syringe, Dr. Sinha eases Juvéderm injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore your skin’s volume, plump lips, or smooth away facial wrinkles and folds.
Juvederm Recovery
Recovery from a Juvéderm injection is usually immediate. Side effects such as redness or pain at the injection site are rare, and usually subside within three days. If you are taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs, you may experience increased bruising at the injection site. If possible, Dr. Sinha recommends talking to your prescribing doctor about discontinuing these medications before the facial injections are performed.
