About IPL
The IPL laser skin therapy, also referred to as photorejuvenation treatment or Foto Facial, is used to rejuvenate, smooth and even skin tone with no downtime. It’s also very effective as a red skin treatment. Through a series of full-face treatments at specific light parameters, consistent and dramatic improvements in sun damage, redness, broken capillaries, and fine lines will improve with each treatment. IPL employs the healing properties of high intensity broadband light (unlike the narrowband light involved in laser skin resurfacing) to gently correct damage to skin, with no downtime.
IPL as a Red Skin Treatment
Rosacea is a chronic skin disease that affects approximately 14 million people in the United States. Dr. Sinha’s Aesthetic Solution Center in Atlanta can reduce the facial redness of rosacea by about 75% with a series of Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatments.
Intense Pulsed Light: Expected Results
Following the series of “light therapy” treatments, all patients observe overall smoother skin with visible improvement in irregularities like brown spots, uneven pigmentation, fine wrinkles, and pore size. The resulting increased volume of collagen will also make the skin notably softer to the touch.
IPL Procedure
A series of six treatments is recommended for optimal results. Approximately three weeks are allotted in-between laser skin treatments. IPL skin treatment is administered in Dr. Sinha’s Atlanta office. Full facial treatments typically require about 30 minutes.
Recovery From Intense Pulsed Light
Discomfort following this laser skin treatment is virtually non-existent. The skin may feel warm and appear pink after treatment but this will end within a few hours, make-up may be reapplied and normal activities can resume.
