A brow lift and forehead lift help correct expression lines and signs of aging in ways in the upper part of the face. While people experience drooping brow and furrowed forehead lines with age, some people experience these problems when they’re young as a result of family genes. A brow lift repositions sagging eyebrows and a forehead lift removes forehead wrinkles for a fresher, uplifted appearance.
All brow lifts and forehead lifts are considered endoscopic procedures, meaning small incisions are made behind the hairline. An endoscope is a specialized surgical telescope that is inserted to help visualize the forehead anatomy and to mark the small muscles that create the deep furrows in the forehead. Tissue is then re-draped to fully remove forehead wrinkles and brow drooping.
Stitches are removed about 2 weeks post-surgery. Brow lift incision points typically heal extremely well. Complications from an endoscopic brow lift are rare. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, fewer than 1% of endoscopic brow lift patients report any complications. However, there are some common side effects after an endoscopic forehead lift that include forehead discomfort (treated with medication), swelling (managed with head elevation) and numbness. None of these effects typically last for longer than one week. Please contact us to schedule your confidential consultation.
