Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler, but the effects of this newer, gel-based product last up to a year with a single injection.
The human body naturally produces hyaluronic acid and uses it to sustain skin elasticity, hydration and support. However, the body’s supply of hyaluronic acid depletes with age. Juvéderm is a great way to help supplement the loss of hyaluronic acid for supple and wrinkle-free skin.
Juvéderm is different in its material make-up as well. It’s manufactured using HYLACROSS™, which creates a smooth-consistency gel, making it perhaps the most similar consistency to facial tissue yet. The gel does not clump together easily, which allows for an even and natural-looking application. In short, Juvéderm provides you with smooth skin and plump lips.
This newer version of Juvéderm (Ultra Plus XC) is also infused with lidocaine, a temporary numbing agent to improve comfort during treatment. With the new Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, you get incredibly smooth, natural-looking skin with improved comfort.
At the Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery, Dr. Sinha often uses Juvéderm in combination with other injectables such as Botox and Restylane & Perlane for a complete, zero downtime facelift alternative.
Like Restylane, Juvéderm smooths out and fills wrinkles around the mouth and nose, delivering natural-looking results and restoring your face to a more youthful appearance. Juvéderm is completely biocompatible, so no skin test is necessary.
Juvéderm is an excellent choice for many patients with overly-pronounced smile lines or parentheses (also known as nasolabial folds), the creases that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It’s also often the best dermal filler for lip augmentation due to its soft, gel consistency.
Juvéderm injections are preformed in the office and only take a few minutes. Using a sterile syringe, our doctors ease the Juvéderm gel under the skin to instantly restore volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds.
Recovery from Juvederm
Recovery from a Juvéderm injection is usually immediate. Side effects such as redness or pain at the injection site are rare and usually subside within three days.
If you are taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs, you may experience increased bruising at the injection site. If possible, we recommend talking to your prescribing doctor about discontinuing these medications before the facial injections are performed.

Injectables And Fillers – What About Bruising And Swelling – Botox & Juvederm
Before most of my injectable procedures, I actually am aware that if you just take an herb called Arnica Montana, you won’t bruise. I’m typically a bruiser and a sweller, so I took some of that a couple of days prior and put some ice on it right after the injectables, and I actually didn’t have any swelling or welts.

Injectables And Fillers – Thoughts On Dr. Sinha – #1 Injector In Atlanta
We live in Atlanta. There’s a doctor on every corner, and it could be hard to decide where you want to go and what you want to do. And the truth is, before I took the job I have now, I was a physician recruiter. And I’ve looked for the best, and I’ve had to hire the best, and I would hire Dr. Senhot in a minute. He’s different because in today’s world, a doctor often becomes a doctor or people talk about wanting to be a doctor when they grow up because they want the money. And to him, it’s not about the money. To him, he truly is listening to you as his patient. He truly does want to make you feel better about yourself, and whatever it takes to make that happen, he will do. But he’s listening to you, and you’ll feel the difference. I encourage you.
Injectables and Fillers – What To Expect – Patient Case Study
The first day I walked into the office, of course you’re concerned because you don’t know what to expect, but the staff and him, they set you at ease. They walk you through the whole thing, and he sat down in front of me and listened to what I thought about my face, and what I wanted done. He didn’t make any suggestions, he just listened, and I told him my concerns and he told me how we could fix it, and then he did.
And during the process he would say, “There’s going to be a little pinch,” or “There’s going to be this” and “You’re going to feel it when I tuck here or pull here.” And it was funny when it was all over, because I have two sons, and so I’ve stepped on Legos, and because I’ve stepped on Matchbox cars, that pain is a whole lot worse than what I had to experience here. So, it really was an easy procedure. It was nothing like I was expecting, and they walked me all the way through it, so I was fine.
